The Permafrost can be a dangerous place, even without being the thrall of one of the two most powerful goblins in the realm. After Lydian mauled her beyond repair, Janneke finds herself with Soren, Lydian's nephew but by far nicer. When the Erlking dies, it is a race between Lydian and Soren as to who will kill the White Stag and become the new Erlking, and for Janneke and Soren, it may be a race to find something more.

I was enthralled from the first chapter! I loved to read about Janneke and Soren racing through the Permafrost to get Soren on the new Erlking throne! The writing style was so easy to read and extremely fast-paced. This absolutely forbade me from putting the book down even for a second!

I found that I did struggle at some point with the fast-moving pace, but was absolutely delighted to find out that White Stag was also featured on Wattpad! I was slightly disappointed as there were a few points where I wasn't quite sure what was going on but after rereading a paragraph, I was right back into it!

Be warned that this book is not for the light-hearted, as there are many references to rape, PTSD, abuse and other dark themes. If you are strong hearted and don't mind a bit of gore, then this book is certainly something to look into!
