The Real Neat Blog Award + An Important Question

Hiya bookish people!

A couple of weeks ago, the wonderful Lauren over at Lala's Book Reviews tagged me in todays post - the Real Neat Blogger Award!

Thank you so much Lauren! It's amazing to think that someone thinks I have a neat blog! I am so happy!!

There are some rules to this tag, so let's get into it!

Rules :

  • Display the Award Logo.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
  • Answer the questions from the blog who nominated you.
  • Nominate 7-10 bloggers.
  • Ask them seven questions.

Right, shall we do this?

what · was · the · last · book · that · made · you · cry?

I’m not an easy crier unless I am laughing, but the most recent cry-worthy book was definitely Five Feet Apart. How could one book rip open my heart so much in so little pages? With amazing writing, that’s how!

(I also cried while reading Frankly in Love, but that was more cinematic-silent-crying rather than my-heart-is-broken-open-ugly-crying)

what · is · your · least · favourite · type · of · post · to · write?

{ Yes I know this isn't my most recent discussion anymore but I love these new banners! }

Hmm. Least favourite? I really don’t like using templates so most likely my wrap ups, but I don’t actually dislike writing them. They are just my least preferred type of post to write.

is · there · a · trope · you · can't · stand · to · read · about?

I will always claim that I cannot stand real tropey-tropes, but I actually love a lot of them. I hate tropes where there is a triangle, and then one of the potential love interests either 1)dies and the center of the triangle feels relieved but sad because now they know who to chose or 2) a love interest gets another partner to make the first person jealous, but they actually fall in love. Blegh!

The only allowed ending to any love triangle, is the two fighters falling in love while pining after someone else. Yeah!

But my most favourite would have to be shameless platonic flirting, but then they get together after ages.

(*cough* *cough* *this-is-a-show-but-still* Bellarke *cough* *cough*)

who · is · your · book · bae?

Will Herondale! Bae is honestly such a soft word, and I have to say Will Herondale! Unless, of course we are saying bae as in a really tough guy, in which I would have to pick Cassian or Rowan. Sorry, I have a thing for the Fae.

Edit: Okay, I just realised this while I was coding the post, but if they are Fae, they are bae! Wow okay look at me rhyme!

do · you · have · a · treasured · book ·(limited · edition / signed · etc.)?

It isn’t signed or a limited edition, but I do have a couple. They are my first ever proof copy of a book Frankly in Love and my copy of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens that is handed down from my great-grandmother and is now over 110 years old! I keep it wrapped in tissue paper in a box to keep it from getting damaged.

what · motivates · you · to · keep · blogging?

There are so many things that I couldn’t pin-point any one point or another. The friendly bloggers, the kind community, the positive interactions and the ability to fangirl with like-minded people are all some that spring straight to mind!

what · is · your · go · to · song · for · friday · vibes?

Hmmm. I am not actually too sure, it really depends on my playlist at the time! I’m in the process of making a summer music playlist but at the moment, I would have to say songs that give me Friday vibes are Worst of You by Maisie Peters, Just Our Style by Wayfarers, Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You) by Dramarama.

ask · seven · questions!

  • Who is your favourite fictional antagonist / villain?
  • If you could go to any fictional worlds for a month where would you go?
  • What’s the most beautiful book cover that you have seen?
  • What is your favourite Harry Potter GIF?
  • Write out a teaser sentence from the book you are currently reading?
  • Do you think that you could survive a dystopian YA novel?
  • Who would you least like to have as a book boyfriend? (because we love being quirky)

tag · seven · people!

Please don't feel any pressure to do this tag, I just thought of you guys when I was writing my answers!

A SERIOUS QUESTION!
Would you guys find it easier if AFCTL made the move to Wordpress? This is something I have been thinking about for a while, and would really like your feedback on. Please keep in mind that I was thinking of this when I first started AFCTL, but now am seriously debating the move.

  1. Aww congratulations on the nomination and fantastic post, as always (: I've only seen the movie of Five Feet Apart but I loved it. And like you I have a weakness for the fae (so I honestly have no idea how I haven't read ACOTAR yet). I have so many fae books on my TBR and just ahhh. Love them so much.
It's entirely up to you if you want to move to WordPress or not. I'd imagine it would take a lot of work to move though and your blog's fantastic. I don't get alerts about your posts but Ive added your page to my favourites which makes it easy enough to keep track of (I think).

    1. Fae is Bae! (At least that's what I say (how did this double rhyme I should drop out and be a poet))

I've been struggling with my mailing list lately, and although it would be a big move, I am due to look at a bit of a design change soon, anyways. I think that if I do, then moving to wordpress at the same time would be good if people are able to interact more? Blogger can be quite difficult.

    2. I rhyme without meaning to sometimes too

If you're planning to change design anyway then it could make sense, if you think you want to move. Otherwise you'll be updating this to then move anyway causing twice as much work for yourself. I have no idea if people interact more tbh /: I do find it fairly easy to use though.

    3. I'm thinking of sending a poll in my mailing list once I have it up and running again! Thank you for the feedback, it has been super helpful! :)

  2. Hello!! Well done on the award, you definitely deserve it as your blog is very neat!!
aw.. Five Feet Apart certainly looks like a very cry-worthy book (and film) but I seen/read either but if I do I will definitely have to get the tissues!!
Wrap ups always take me longer to write than I think, I think it will take a few minutes but then I am still there hours later still writing haha!!
I need to read the infernals devices and meet Will!! Also this is the first time I have realised Fae and Bae rhyme and honestly it is amazing!!!
wow that Peter Pan copy is 110 years old-- that's impressive and such a cool thing to own!!
I loved reading your answers, great post!!

Also about Wordpress-- I do use the reader a lot and find it really easy to keep up to date with all the blogs but I don't mind visiting your blog on my own and writing my details in to comment on your posts so I think do whichever you feel happiest with. I love Wordpress and find it really easy but it is entirely up to you and you need to do what is best for you!!

    1. Awww thank you!!
Wrap ups take me so long I swear!

I am not worried about the move, more about what is easier for you guys; I am set to revisit my design soon and I have noticed that somewhere I have a bug that means some people can't interact and see a lot of things that are here.

  3. First of all, thank you for tagging me! :) I hate love triangles in general, but it really is the worst when one of them dies, and then the person now knows who to choose. It cheapens the romance and the character's death so bad. I definitely agree with everything you said at the "what keeps you motivated" question. :)

    Great answers! :)

    1. Your welcome! I can't wait to see your answers :)
It does cheapen it so much and I look at it an think "you suck".

  4. Omg, I love your answers! I haven’t read Five Feet Apart because the trailer for it gave me TFIOS vibes... and Will Herondale is definitely bae 😂.

As for moving to Wordpress, I would. I find it easier to comment, share, and like posts. Personally, I think a lot more people are willing (and more likely) to visit Wordpress blogs than others! I haven’t seen the behind the scenes stuff with blogspot blogs (like setting up posts and all of that fun stuff), but I know that Wordpress is easier to manage than Wix!

    1. He is bae so much I love him!!

Thank you for telling me that! I am thinking at the moment that the move would be beneficial.

  5. Thanks for the tag!! I love the Fae is Bae thing ajsdrybwk yaaas!!! Rowan is not my type, but I love him nonetheless (cue 'not my type' Percy Jackson memes lol). I've gotta say, I also love enemies-to-lovers, friends-to-lovers and fake dating tropes too 😍 being such a fangirl haha. Thanks for the tag!! Also, I think it should be completely up to you regarding whether you move to WordPress but personally, I would prefer it because it makes it easier to read your posts. But again, up to you!!

  6. Your answers were SO fun to read, and thanks so much for the tag! I'll try to do it ASAP. ;)

About WordPress, like Aditi said above it is totally up to you, but WordPress is easier for me personally to comment on because I can comment from my phone. Still, the choice is totally yours to make and whatever you choose will work! <3
